KIMbcn is a Spanish private foundation involved in knowledge/technology transfer and innovation promotion and is seeking to join a project consortium under the current EC Eco-innovation call. We have been investigating a couple of projects here in Spain to submit, but as it now seems unlikely that these will be progressed as we feel they don´t sufficiently meet the criteria, we are interested in seeking a role as a Spanish partner in other projects that are been prepared for submission to meet the September 10 deadline.
KIM would particularly assist in areas relating to exploitation, market development and commercialisation activities – a KIM profile is below giving a brief company overview.
Company profile
KIMbcn (Knowledge Innovation Market, Barcelona), a private foundation, is a new player in the Spanish innovation and technology transfer system and collaborates with a wide range of organizations involved in technology innovation and development. KIMbcn aims to add value through product innovation and incorporation of new technologies in order to improve the competitiveness of its client companies. KIMbcn develops an innovative culture, exploits new technologies, protects intellectual property and is totally engaged to the technology transfer spectrum.
KIMbcn offers global solutions to technology needs, following each step of the value chain: from research to commercialisation phase, going through development and protection. It is active in innovation projects coming from both public and private institutions, and from different technological sectors.
KIMbcn has experience in evaluation, valorisation, and commercialisation of technologies. This experience has led KIM to develop new methods to improve exploitation of research results and technology transfer to the market. In the evaluation phase, outputs from R&D programmes are evaluated according to the level of innovation and the potential to take it to market. Technology valorisation involves project classification based on stage of technology and market readiness, and processes to increase their value are undertaken (proof
of concept, IP protection etc). Commercialisation is centred on detailed design, development and implementation of commercialisation activities.
The KIM model for knowledge/technology transfer is based on an offering of valorisation services, commercialisation paths and market positioning analysis, all conducted by their own in-house team of experts (over 30 professionals) covering a range of technological sectors, encompassing technologists, project managers and technology commercialisation agents. KIM also works with a national and international network of collaborators with great experience in innovation and technology.
While KIMbcn has centred its initial activities in Catalonia (Spain), it has a global vision and is seeking to develop and consolidate a presence in the international arena, with new branches planned at both national and international level, and ongoing activity in the establishment of new international partnerships and collaborative R&D and innovation projects at European and international level.
